It’s been an exhilarating past few weeks here at UP. Our newest family member, UP Core
reached its funding goal on Kickstarter in less than 6 hours since being launched. We were fortunate to have over 100 media coverage reports about UP Core during its campaign. With pleasure we close out the UP Core campaign with over €50,000 and more than 300 backers!
A short update on the status of UP Core:
- UP Core is currently undergoing DVT (Design Verification Testing). Thus far, we have not seen any critical issues from a hardware perspective. Tests with Windows is almost completed and a preliminary test with Linux shows a good result.
- The development of carrier boards is being completed and we expect to have schematics finalized within the next few weeks. Thereafter we can move to BIOS optimization.
- The chassis design is almost there! We will have the first 3D printed chassis very soon, this will help us make sure all the correct detailing has been considered. Once we have the chassis, we will carry out thermal tests and then tooling.
Even though our Kickstarter campaign
has come to an end, we will still keep you up to date on the progress of UP Core. We appreciate all your support throughout our campaign and beyond! If you would like to know more about UP Core, you are very welcome to join UP Community
where you can also share your ideas with us! If you have missed out on our Kickstarter campaign, there is still a chance for you to pre-order your UP Core board from UP shop
