Hi guys,
We hope you enjoyed watching the mini-PC video we published last week. Today, we would like to update you with the progress we have made on the chassis design.
The UP Core system is a mini PC.
However, what does the system look like when you stack expansion boards beneath it?
We have designed a concept which gives you a good idea of what the system could look like. In the previews, you will see that the enclosure of the expansion board is like a ring. All you have to do is simply take out the top and bottom plate of the UP Core system, add the expansion board enclosure and then re-assemble the top and bottom plates back into position. In order not to lose the flexibility of the I/O breakout face, the expansion board enclosure will have 3 faces open. If you have a custom expansion board, you may design an I/O bracket for your specific system.
For backers who have bought expansion enclosures, it will come with the corresponding I/O bracket for your expansion board.
We’re reaching our targets, however, we are driven to make this project attain perfection. We hope to add the possibility of DIN RAIL and VESA mountings. We also anticipate a 3D printed chassis to show to you very soon! Keep your fingers crossed!

Cheers
