UP can help, you can help

Stay at home with our beloved is part of measures to control the coronavirus as much as possible. But together we can do more.

We are calling everyone who is passionate about technology, building projects based on open source, which could help in testing, monitoring, deploying application of tackling the Coronavirus outbreak.

Everyone is unique, and every contribution matters, with your support, let’s aim to minimize the suffering and no more.

Intel powers intelligence at the edge of business

Goal

As the spread of COVID-19 evolved in several countries around the world, we can still contribute our prototype to contain this outbreak while complying with the isolation mandates.

With Intel Technology, leveraging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing and edge-to-cloud service to combat the coronavirus it is accelerating access to technology at the point of patient care, speeding scientific research and ensuring access to online learning for students and teachers.

Our approach is to take the first initiative and develop a quick and easy solution that can be implemented anywhere. What started out as a small idea is becoming a bigger project with each passing day. We are making a difference in this difficult time and we believe that in this we are all together to contribute ourselves and make the rest of the world better than today.

People Counter

#OpenSource We provide a people counting application which can provide real-time occupancy statistic in supermarkets. So owners/ government can limit the number of people allowed in the shop at the same time. With API, the live-status will also update on the Internet, so that we can avoid rushing into crowded stores. The application is built on an x86 system, UP Core Plus with Intel® Atom™ Quad-Core processor and Intel® HD Graphics.
Application overview
Hardware
  • UP Core Plus with Intel® Atom™ Quad Core processor and Intel® HD Graphics
  • 2 USB HD Webcam
Software stack
  • Ubuntu* 18.04 LTS
  • Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit 2019 R3 Release
  • OpenCL™ Runtime package (see Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit setup on Linux)
The best thing about open source is that, it is accessible and everyone can contribute.
We believe that you can improve this open source project and make it even more efficiently.
Feel free to fork or send your pull request!
We all know that there are more possibilities to tackle this coronavirus pandemic, such as disposable ventilators, drone to transport medical samples. We encourage everyone to work together and we can propose to mass production.
